The race to secure an evolving public sector

Public sector organisations in the UK are facing an increasing number of cyber attacks, with around 40% of incidents recorded by the National Cyber Security Centre between September 2020 and August 2021 impacting this sector. Ransomware remains the biggest threat, and fallout from successful attacks can be devastating. Despite these risks, the sector has been slow to address cybersecurity threats. Underinvestment and a lack of expertise contribute to the issue, but efforts are underway to improve cyber-resilience.
