The Share of Young Adults Who Received Mental Health Treatment Jumped 45% from 2019 to 2022, the Largest Increase Among Any Age Group

The proportion of young adults (18-26) accessing mental health treatment increased 45% between 2019 and 2022, more than any other age group, according to a KFF study. In 2022, over a quarter of young adults received mental health treatment. Despite this increase, many young adults with mental health conditions report not receiving treatment. The analysis also found that women are nearly twice as likely as men to receive mental health treatment.
