In 2022, Ohio saw 20 healthcare data breaches, impacting over 275,000 individuals, according to an analysis by Drata. This data is highly targeted because of the sensitive patient information it contains, such as social security numbers and addresses. Around 44% of identity theft was as a result of fraudulent credit card accounts, reports the Federal Trade Commission.
