This growing malware threat actor is set to unleash a surge of attacks, experts warn

Security researchers have discovered a new threat actor named ‘BattleRoyal’ who has mounted at least 20 email campaigns between September and November to deliver DarkGate malware. In November, the group transitioned to already established NetSupport, using compromised websites and fake updates to spread malware. The unknown hackers exploited a SmartScreen flaw before its announcement by Microsoft.
