This Year’s Largest Healthcare Data Breaches

HealthITSecurity listed the ten largest health data breaches of 2023, topped by HCA Healthcare, Perry Johnson & Associates, and Managed Care of North America. More than 500 organizations reported breaches to the HHS Office for Civil Rights, impacting over 112 million individuals, with multiple breaches linked to third-party vendors. Cybersecurity risks such as vulnerabilities in Progress Software’s system and Fortra’s managed file transfer solution were key issues causing the breaches.
