Thousands in Dorset have health data breached as officials apologise
The Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust (DHC) experienced the fourth highest number of data breaches in the UK between 2016 and 2021, according to a study based on Freedom of Information requests sent to 229 NHS foundations. The breaches compromised patient data, including medication, test results and appointment information. However, DHC reported that only 16 were reportable to the national Information Commissioners Office, placing it among the best performing trusts in the country.
