Thousands of Android TV boxes infected with dangerous malware linked to fraud
According to cybersecurity firm Human Security, Android TV boxes and one model of a tablet have been found to contain malware which siphons users’ data to servers in China. The malware allows ad fraud, creates fake accounts, and provides access to home networks. The infected devices are T95, T95Z, T95MAX, X88, Q9, X12PLUS, MXQ Pro 5G, and a tablet J5-W. It’s advised that users of these devices, which would be difficult to cleanse of the malware, stop using them.
