Thousands of blood test samples set to be destroyed after NHS cyberattack

A cyberattack has seriously affected GP practices in London, reducing their ability to conduct pathology tests. Services run by Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust and Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have been disrupted. The attack is believed to have been directed at service provider Synnovis, and may have been perpetrated by Russian criminals. Thousands of patient samples may have to be destroyed and more than 200 life-saving operations have been cancelled.
