Thousands of hospital appointments and procedures postponed after cyber attack
More than 6,300 outpatient appointments and procedures were postponed in two NHS foundations trusts following a cyber attack on June 3. Pathology services provider Synnovis was hit with ransomware, reducing its capacity to 54%. Russian cyber gang Qilin reportedly shared 400GB of stolen data, but the NHS has contested the claim. Officials call for O positive and negative blood donations to aid the response. Operations are nearing normality, but patient impacts are still being deciphered.
