Thousands of London NHS hospital appointments and procedures postponed after cyber attack

A cyber attack in June at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust resulted in over 6,000 appointments and procedures being postponed. While most services are at near-normal levels, pathology services are still operating at 54 per cent capacity. A ransomware attack targeted pathology services provider Synnovis, and hackers reportedly released some stolen data online. Although patient names, birth dates, and descriptions of blood tests were shared, there’s no evidence of an entire database being published.
