Thousands of Welsh NHS staff’s data stolen in hack

The radiation doses, National Insurance numbers, names and birth dates of thousands of medical staff working with X-rays in Wales have been stolen from the servers of contractor Landauer. Included in the breach were radiographers, cleaners and other workers from most health boards in Wales. Landauer processes data for these staff, some 530 of whom worked for Velindre NHS Trust, which manages radiation dose-meter badges in Wales. The NHS in Wales has begun an investigation into the breach.
