Threat of cyber attacks discussed by St Helens Council just weeks ago

St Helens Borough Council has been hit by a ransomware attack affecting its IT systems and networks. The council, which is working with cybersecurity advisers on the issue, described the situation as “complex and evolving”. Ahead of the attack, robust measures had been put in place to combat the ongoing threat of a successful cyber attack against the council.
