TSTT’s week of evasion and half-truths

TSTT, a state telecoms company in Trinidad and Tobago, suffered a data breach in October 2023 at the hands of ransomware group RansomEXX. Data was posted on the dark web, possibly including a significant amount of customer details. Critics argue that TSTT downplayed the event and misled its line minister about the extent of the breach. An independent investigation has been called for, with potential fines from the EU’s GDPR suggested.
