UChicago Medicine exec to retire after 12 years

Brenda Battle, UChicago Medicine’s chief equity officer, will retire at the end of the year. During her tenure, she more than doubled the health system’s investment in community health to over $5 billion, led the establishment of the nonprofit South Side Health Community, and supported the creation of a role focused on addressing maternal health disparities.
