Pennsylvania-based health system Universal Health Services (UHS) experienced a cyberattack over the weekend, potentially the largest in US history. While UHS has not disclosed the nature of the attack, it is suspected to be ransomware. Cybersecurity experts warned that the healthcare sector is a prime target for cybercriminals, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The attack on UHS follows a recent uptick in healthcare breaches, with a 273% increase in breached records in Q1 2020 compared to the same period last year.
