UK AI summit pledge, Mozi botnet ‘kill switch’, EU bans Meta’s ad practices

At a global AI safety summit, the US, UK, and China pledged to address the risks posed by artificial intelligence (AI). The European Data Protection Board has banned Meta’s data processing for behavioural advertising. Meanwhile, security researchers triggered a “kill switch” to deactivate the Mozi botnet which infected over 1.5 million IoT devices. Also, the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams has released v4.0 of its Common Vulnerability Scoring System standard to assess the severity of software vulnerabilities.
