UK prime minister: Ransomware attack is global

Theresa May confirmed that a ransomware cyber attack on the National Health Service (NHS) was not a targeted attack, but an “international attack”. It was initially believed to be confined to the UK’s NHS, but over 45,000 such attacks have been reported internationally over a ten hour period, affecting countries including Spain and Russia. The malware responsible has been named as the Wanna Decryptor.
