UK prime minister: Ransomware attack is global

A ransomware cyberattack originally targeted at computers in hospitals across England and Scotland spread to affect dozens of countries, British Prime Minster Theresa May has said. The Spanish Interior Ministry revealed that both telecommunications firm Telefónica and other major Spanish companies had been affected, with around 85% of Telefónica’s computers being hit by the attack. It also led to a number of operations in the healthcare sector being cancelled.
