UK tech tsar warns of AI cyber threat to NHS

Artificial intelligence (AI) could be exploited to disrupt the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) or launch a biological attack, according to Ian Hogarth, who heads the government’s £100 million ($134.67 million) Frontier AI task force. Hogarth believes AI might enable cyber attackers to target the NHS or create pathogens and toxins, and calls for international partnerships to tackle these threats. The task force plans to conduct independent safety research for frontier AI models.
