UK tech tsar warns of AI cyber threat to NHS

UK’s new AI tsar, Ian Hogarth, heading a £100mn task force, warned of AI becoming a tool for cyberattacks on the National Health Service (NHS). Citing bioterrorism as a critical AI risk, he highlighted the necessity for international collaboration to tackle such issues. Hogarth’s team, which includes renowned AI pioneer Yoshua Bengio, will work on independent AI safety research to foster the development of safe and reliable frontline AI models.
