Ukraine, Gaza Wars Inspire DDoS Surge Against Finservs

Financial services are facing nearly double the distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks compared to other industries, according to a report by Akamai. In the first half of 2021, there were nearly 3,000 Layer 3 and 4 DDoS attacks on financial services, compared to around 1,000 to 1,500 events for other sectors. The increase in DDoS attacks correlates with a rise in hacktivism and emerging threats to application programming interfaces.
