Ukrainian soldiers are sent malware disguised as information on recruitment to 3rd Separate Assault Brigade and IDF

Ukrainian soldiers are being targeted by hackers sending malware-loaded messages via the Signal app, purporting to discuss recruitment. The State Special Communications Service of Ukraine has taken measures against the attacks. The malware, identified as REMCOSRAT and REVERSESSH, is contained within archive files with tantalizing labels to attract soldiers’ attention. The US-Japanese firm Trendmicro detected the activity in late December 2023 and reported it to Ukrainian authorities.
