Undetected Android Trojan Expands Attack on Iranian Banks
A report by Zimperium has revealed the expansion and increased sophistication of an Android banking Trojan campaign targeting Iranian banks. Initially discovered in 2023, the malware mimics banking apps to steal login credentials and credit card information. The study identified 245 new app variants linked to the threat and showed a potential interest in collecting information about cryptocurrency wallets and targeting iOS devices. The researchers highlighted the importance of runtime visibility and protection for mobile applications.
