UnitedHealth sued by pharmacists, providers hurt by Change Healthcare hack

UnitedHealth Group and subsidiaries Optum and Change Healthcare face a lawsuit from the National Community Pharmacists Association and nearly 40 provider organizations for failing to ensure proper security over patient and payer data. This failure resulted in a ransomware attack in February, disrupting the claims processing system and causing financial strain for the plaintiffs due to difficulties in receiving full payment for care delivered.
