University of Manchester hit by cyber attack

The University of Manchester confirmed it has been the victim of a cyber-attack where an unauthorised party gained access to some of its systems. The variety and volume of affected data is still being determined. The university alerted the Information Commissioner’s Office, the National Cyber Security Centre and the National Crime Agency and are working to resolve the breach.
