Update on cyber incident: clinical impact in South East London | NHS England

NHS England London continues to manage the aftermath of a cyber attack on Synnovis in early June that’s resulted in many outpatient appointments and procedures being postponed. A data update released by the health provider reveals a decrease in the number of delayed appointments and procedures, but also more use of universal blood types, which has impacted on national blood stocks. Dr Chris Streather, Medical Director for NHS London, confirmed the situation was still having a significant impact on patients. NHS Blood and Transplant is urging O positive and O negative blood donors to make donation appointments as soon as possible.
