Update: Ransomware attack on Cass Regional shuts down EHR

Missouri’s Cass Regional Medical Center is recovering from a ransomware attack that hit its communication system and shut down its Meditech electronic health record system. Patient data was reportedly not breached, and recovery efforts are about 85% complete, with the EHR expected to come back online within 72 hours. All other care continues without interruption. The health system is working with a forensics firm to decrypt affected systems and files.
