US health giant Kaiser hit by data breach — millions of customers informed they could be at risk
US-based Kaiser Foundation Health Plan accidentally exposed sensitive data of 13.4 million of its present and previous patients. The leaked details included member names, IP addresses and membership status. The breach happened due to “certain online technologies” used on its website and mobile applications, unknowingly transferring data to third-party entities. The company plans to send data leak notifications to those affected.
