US lawmaker informed of email breach tied to Microsoft cloud hack | GVS – Global Village Space

US House lawmaker, Rep. Don Bacon, has been targeted by China-backed hackers who breached his personal and campaign emails through a stolen Microsoft key. Previously, this group also accessed emails of other US officials including the US Commerce Secretary and the US Ambassador to China, amongst others. Rep. Bacon believes that the intention behind the hack was to embarrass him or undermine his political support for Taiwan’s defenses.
