Using mRNA vaccines to prevent UTI, cancers

The Australian government is investing $19m in mRNA vaccine research projects to fight against cancer and urinary tract infections (UTIs). The University of Technology Sydney will use $1.8m to work on an mRNA vaccine against Escherichia coli, which causes UTIs. Meanwhile, the University of Queensland is receiving $3.3m to set up a Brisbane facility focusing on mRNA vaccine delivery and cancer prevention.
