UVM restoring access to EHR weeks after cyberattack

The University of Vermont Health Network is in the process of restoring access to its electronic health record system after a cyberattack. The Epic EHR is currently in “read only” mode at several sites, with the restoration process expected to take several days. The network has been working with the FBI and the Vermont National Guard to regain functionality. The attack comes amid a rise in cyber threats against hospitals during the ongoing pandemic.
