VA gets linked up with North Carolina HIE

Portal developer MEDSEEK has connected WNC Health Network’s health information exchange, WNC Data Link, to the Veterans Administration’s Health Information Systems Technology Architecture (VistA). The connection allows member hospitals to share health information with the VA and WNC Health Network hospitals, ensuring physicians have access to the most recent and accurate medical records for participating veterans. The project has already seen 200 veterans join live trials since its launch in 2011, with a further 9,000 expected to join later this year.
