VA launches $1M AI tech challenge to address clinician burnout

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), in a bid to reduce burnout amongst healthcare workers, is sponsoring an AI challenge to develop a tech solution that can record clinical encounters and process documents for its Community Care program. The 120-day challenge, open to collaborative teams, aims to deliver innovations to support the VA’s overloaded healthcare team. The chosen platform must interoperate with VA health system information, ensuring high levels of patient data protection. Close date for applications is January 5, 2024.
