Valid credentials used in attack

Managed services provider Advanced has confirmed its recent attack was ransomware that compromised customer data with the use of legitimate third-party credentials. Attackers accessed systems and took seven NHS and other medical applications offline, including Staffplan which is used by over 79,000 care home workers. This has raised considerable patient care risks. Advanced stated external compliance constraints delayed getting applications back online.
