Valve adds new security check after attackers compromise Steam accounts of multiple game devs and update their games with malware

Game developers’ accounts on Steam were recently targeted in a cyber attack that resulted in malware being added to their games. Valve has counteracted this by introducing a two-factor authentication system that requires developers to verify their account via SMS before updating any game. Despite fewer than 100 Steam users being affected, the company has upped its security measures to prevent such incidents.
