Vietnam linked to spy campaign using EU-made malware

Amnesty International has claimed that Vietnamese agents might have used a malware, Predator, created by a North Macedonian firm, to target officials, journalists, and civil societies globally. The malware, marketed by the Intellexa group, an alliance of companies with French and Israeli connections, controls the infected phone’s camera and microphone. The malware was sold to Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security for €5.6m ($5.9m).
