Vietnamese cybercriminals have been deploying DarkGate commodity malware targeting entities in the U.K., U.S., and India, a practice linked to the usage of the infamous Ducktail stealer. According to security analyst firm WithSecure, this is due to a thriving cybercrime marketplace where threat actors can acquire multiple attack tools for different purposes. The malware, originating from phishing emails or Linkedin messages, functions as a remote access trojan and information stealer to compromise host systems.
