Walmart announces closing of clinics and virtual care

Walmart is closing its 51 Walmart Health and Walmart Health Virtual Care centres across five states due to a lack of profitability and sustainability. The future closure dates are yet to be confirmed. Staff are eligible to transfer to other Walmart or Sam’s Club locations or will receive severance if they do not transfer or leave within 90 days. Going forward, Walmart will focus on health services via its nearly 4,600 pharmacies and over 3,000 vision centres.
