Cybercriminals are targeting Google Chrome users, among others, with fake browser update notifications that install malware on their devices. The hackers use manipulated code to lead users onto their websites, emulating legitimate pop-up windows for updates. To stay safe, users are advised to only install official updates, which usually occur automatically through browser settings.
