Warning over Temu’s ‘dangerous twin’ app that can SPY on you, experts claim

Chinese-owned online retailer Temu, and its globally focused branch Pinduoduo, pose major cybersecurity risks to consumers, according to cybersecurity experts. The apps are reported to request extensive access permissions and could potentially expose users to cyber attacks. Pinduoduo was found to contain advanced malware potentially capable of bypassing unknown Android system vulnerabilities, causing its suspension from Google’s Play Store. Malicious versions of the app could secretly download themselves onto devices, extracting sensitive user information.
