WatchGuard Threat Lab Report Shows Rise in Threat Actors

WatchGuard Technologies’ Q3 2023 Internet Security Report reveals increasing abuse of remote access software, rising use of password-stealers and info-stealers by cyber adversaries, and a pivot from scripting to other attack techniques by threat actors. The data also shows an 89% uptick in endpoint ransomware attacks driven by the Medusa ransomware variant and a 14% increase in overall malware detections, nearly half of which came via encrypted traffic.
