Week in review: SonicWall critical firewalls flaw fixed, APT exploits WPS Office for Windows RCE
SonicWall patched a flaw in its firewall, while a vulnerability in WPS Office for Windows was being exploited by APT-C-60. Versa Director was compromised due to a zero-day vulnerability, and a critical vulnerability in Fortra FileCatalyst Workflow was also patched. The ransomware-as-a-service outfit, RansomHub, has hit 210 victims. Iranian hackers known as Pioneer Kitten partnered with ransomware affiliates, and ransomware tactics are constantly evolving. Despite heavy security investments, half of enterprises have still suffered breaches. There were also discussions on data privacy, tech failures, bots, and deepfakes.
