A computer virus is a type of malware that embeds itself into a computer’s operating system and then replicates and spreads throughout the device, causing damage. There are different types of computer viruses, including direct-acting, resident, overwrite, boot sector, web script and macro viruses. Famous examples include the Morris worm, ILOVEYOU, and Stuxnet.
