siteadmin November 14, 2023

Long-term care for aging populations is costing more for wealthy nations, many of which use government funding or mandatory insurance. Japan has compulsory care insurance for citizens aged 40 and above, with costs shared between tax revenue and premiums. The Netherlands includes long-term care in its universal healthcare, while Canada funds services through general tax. The UK uses taxes and central government grants, while Singapore recently introduced mandatory insurance for those born after 1980. All the mentioned countries have spent higher shares of their GDPs on long-term care than the US.
