What we know about LockBit, the Russia-linked cyber crime gang targeting UK

The UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) has infiltrated and taken control of the LockBit cybercrime group, linked to several high-profile attacks in the UK, including a £65m Royal Mail ransom demand and the publication of Ministry of Defence documents on the dark web. Five Russian nationals connected to LockBit were charged and over 200 cryptocurrency accounts were frozen. Despite being related to geopolitics, LockBit was not directly state-sponsored, states cybersecurity expert, Elliott Wilkes.
