White House releases final Precision Medicine Initiative data security framework

The White House has released the final data security framework for its Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI). The framework provides risk management guidelines for participating institutions and includes eight guidelines such as best security practices and preserving data integrity. The framework is adaptable and responsive to the needs of multiple PMI groups and is meant to protect the data contributed by participants. A precision medicine-specific guide for the NIST Cybersecurity Framework will also be released by the end of the year.
