White House wants input on open source security, memory-safe languages

The White House has requested information to develop its cybersecurity strategy further, focusing on open source security. The Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) has called for input from public and private stakeholders, emphasizing that benefiting from open source software requires active support and security measures from all users, including the federal government. The ONCD has also encouraged the development of more secure software using memory-safe languages.
