Women Political Leaders Summit targeted in RomCom malware phishing

Hackers used a variant of the RomCom backdoor malware to target attendees of the Women Political Leaders (WPL) Summit focusing on gender equality and women in politics. According to a Trend Micro report, the perpetrators used a fake but convincing copy of the official WPL website to spread the malware. The malware underwent significant changes to make it lighter, stealthier, and more difficult to detect.
