Wye Valley NHS Trust broke rules on mixed-sex wards

There has been a rise in NHS breaches of mixed-sex accommodation rules amid higher demand, with hospitals placing patients in unsuitable wards due to a lack of space. Fines for these breaches are decided by individual Clinical Commissioning Groups. NHS England pushes a ‘zero-tolerance’ policy, suggesting Wye Valley NHS Trust may face £46,500 ($61,130) in fines for its 186 breaches in 2019.
