Xamalicious Android malware distributed through the Play Store

Researchers have found a new Android malware named Xamalicious that can seize control of the device for fraudulent activities. Discovered by the McAfee Mobile Research Team, the malware uses the Xamarin framework, incorporates various obfuscation techniques and custom encryption for stealth. Distributed via apps including health, games and productivity on Google Play, the malware has been downloaded around 327,000 times. Most infections are found in the USA, Brazil, Argentina, UK, Spain, and Germany.
